Viñedos del Contino nastao je 1973. godine, uspostavljajući “château” koncept u regiji Rioja. Vina se proizvode isključivo od grožđa sa 62 hektara sopstvenih vinograda. Vinogradi okružuju porodično imanje smješteno unutar meandra rijeke Ebro, u mjestu Laserna, nadomak sela Laguardia u Rioja Alavesi.

Viñedos del Contino was born in 1973, establishing the “château” concept in the Rioja region. Its wines are made exclusively from the vines planted across its 62-hectare estate. The vineyards surround the property’s ancestral home within a meander of the River Ebro, in Laserna near the village of Laguardia in Rioja Alavesa.

This Reserva is considered the ambassador of the estate, with grapes carefully handpicked from the finest micro-plots in order to achieve the perfect expression of the house style — a wine where complexity and elegance merge seamlessly together. In 2021, the wine shows remarkable freshness and precision, with a fragrant nose offering aromas of black cherry, plum, blackberry, violets, cedar, balsamic notes, sweet spice, and subtle mineral undertones. On the palate it is vibrant, structured, and beautifully balanced, combining refined tannins with freshness, depth, and finely integrated oak. Its long, velvety finish recalls the complex interplay of fruit, spice, floral, and mineral notes found on the nose.
