Viñedos del Contino je osnovan 1973. godine, uvodeći koncept „château“ vinarije u regionu Rioje. Njihova vina se proizvode isključivo od grožđa sa 62 hektara vinograda koji okružuju porodičnu kuću, smještenu u meandru rijeke Ebro, u mjestu Laserna, blizu sela Laguardia u regionu Rioja Alavesa.

Contino Blanco iz 2021. godine je kupaža sastavljena od 80% sorte Viura sa različitih dijelova imanja i 20% Garnacha Blanca sa parcele San Gregorio, zasađene 1980. godine, gdje su zemljišta glinasto-krečnjačka. Vino nudi bogatu aromatsku kompleksnost, sa dubokim mirisom u kojem se ističu voćne i tostirane note, uz blagu dimljenost i balsamične tonove. Na nepcu je zaokruženo i elegantno, sa suvim i blago mineralnim završetkom. Ova berba ima niži sadržaj alkohola, što posebno ističe njegovu osvježavajuću kiselost (što će mu dodatno produžiti vijek trajanja).

Viñedos del Contino was born in 1973, establishing the “château” concept in the Rioja region. Its wines are made exclusively from the vines planted on its 62 hectares. The estate’s vineyards embrace its ancestral home within a meander in the River Ebro, located in Laserna, near the village of Laguardia in the Rioja Alavesa region.

In 2021, this Contino Blanco is a blend of 80% Viura from different locations around the estate, and 20% Garnacha Blanca from the San Gregorio plot which was planted in 1980 and where the soils are calcareous clay.  It offers a lot of aromatic complexity, with a deep nose where the fruity and toasted aromas really stand out, complemented by a tiny of smokiness and balsamic.  On the palate the wine is round and elegant with a dry and lightly mineral finish.  It's lighter in alcohol this vintage, which makes the refreshing acidity really stand out (and which will give it longevity in the future).
