Thörle je porodični domèn sa sjedištem u Saulheimu, u regiji Rheinhessen. Vinograd Schlossberg nalazi se sjeverozapadno od Saulheima, okrenut je ka zapadu i leži na nadmorskoj visini od 170 do 235 metara. Cijela lokacija je obilježena dubokim glinovitim i laporastim zemljištem bogatim gvožđem, koje se veoma sporo zagrijeva, ali odlično zadržava toplotu i vlagu. Rieslinzi iz Schlossberga su uglavnom veoma mineralni, nježni, zemljani i obdareni prelijepom kisjelinom.

Vino iz berbe 2022. ispalo je izuzetno uspješno. Iako je suvo, savršeno izražava onaj precizni trenutak kada prekrasno zrelo grožđe rizlinga počinje da prelazi u suptilnu, egzotičnu prezrelost. Na srednjem nepcu prisutna je divna sočnost sa blagim dodirom kremastosti, a zatim se javlja mineralna kiselost koja se postepeno gradi i vodi ka dugoj, vrlo čistoj i elegantnoj završnici.

Thörle is a family domaine based in Saulheim in the Rheinhessen. While the estate dates back to the 16th century, in 2006 control was assumed by the young and dynamic brothers Christoph and Johannes, who modernized and reinvigorated both the winery and its vineyards, including switching over to organic and biodynamic production. Today, Weingut Thörle ranks among the best estates in the Rheinhessen. Their Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) from the famed Hölle and Probstey vineyards are among the top-scoring red wines in all of Germany.

The Schlossberg vineyard lies northwest of Saulheim, is west-facing and lies at an elevation of 170 to 235 meters. The entire site is characterized by deep clay and limestone marl soils with iron oxides, which warm very slowly but retain heat and water very efficiently. The Rieslings from the Schlossberg are generally very mineral, delicate, earthy, and endowed with a beautiful acidity.

The wine has turned out extremely well in 2022.  While dry, it seems to perfectly articulate the precise point when beautifully ripe riesling grapes tip over into the beginning of exotic overripeness. There is a lovely succulence with a touch of creaminess on the mid-palate, then the mineral acidity comes through and builds at the long, very pure and elegant finish.
