Buket je velikodušan i slojevit, sa aromama zrele šljive, kupine i crne trešnje, isprepletenim notama duvana, kedra i daškom tamne čokolade. Na nepcu je punog tijela, a ipak elegantan, sa podatnim taninima i živahnom kisjelošću koja nosi ukuse tamnog bobičastog voća, cassisa i začina. Suptilne nijanse grafita i mineralni tonovi odražavaju karakter terroir-a Brda.

Završetak je dug i harmoničan, sa postojanim utiscima zrelog voća, kakaa i nježnog hrasta. Rafiniran i izražajan Merlot koji spaja snagu i sofisticiranost, a savršeno se slaže sa jelima poput grilovanog bifteka, pečene jagnjetine ili odležanih tvrdih sireva.

From select vineyard parcels in Goriška Brda, the 2018 Merlot “Cru Selection” showcases both the ripeness of the vintage and the finesse of Marjan Simčič’s craftsmanship.

The bouquet is generous and layered, with aromas of ripe plum, blackberry, and black cherry, intertwined with notes of tobacco, cedar, and a touch of dark chocolate. On the palate it is full-bodied yet elegant, with supple tannins and vibrant acidity carrying flavours of dark berries, cassis, and spice. Subtle hints of graphite and mineral notes reflect the character of the Brda terroir.

The finish is long and harmonious, with lingering impressions of ripe fruit, cocoa, and gentle oak. A refined and expressive Merlot that balances power with sophistication, and pairs beautifully with dishes such as grilled steak, roast lamb, or aged hard cheeses.
