Ferdinand Bonnet, Grande Réserve Champagne NV (750 ml)
90 points - Wine Enthusiast
On the wild and verdant hillsides of southern Champagne, the Kimmeridgian limestone soil imparts to the wines of the Côte des Bar the intense expression for which it is famous. Located in the heart of Les Riceys, Ferdinand Bonnet is one of its iconic interpreters.
This Grand Réserve is a blend of 80% Pinot Noir with 20% Chardonnay, matured on fine lees for 36 months. It's a blend of 5 different vintages, and the proportion of reserve wines is normally very high, between 45 and 55%. This is an elegant Champagne with lingering flavours. Bright yellow-gold tones and enhanced by fine, long-lasting bubbles. With notes of pastry, apples, white blossom and citrus fruits, it offers an excellent balance between strength and finesse. Very refreshing too, this is an excellent choice for an aperitif or for celebrations.
