Château Smith Haut Lafitte is one of the leading estates of Pessac-Léognan, renowned for its gravelly soils and distinctive smoky, mineral style. The 2010 vintage, one of Bordeaux’s great benchmark years, delivers exceptional concentration, structure, and ageing potential, with a Cabernet Sauvignon-led blend supported by Merlot and smaller proportions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

In the glass, it shows a deep garnet colour with slight evolution at the rim. The nose is intense and complex, with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and plum, layered with notes of cedar, graphite, tobacco, and pronounced smoky tones. On the palate, it is full-bodied and powerful, with firm, finely structured tannins and vibrant acidity; the fruit is dense and precise, leading to a long, persistent finish marked by spice, mineral depth, and exceptional balance.
