Château Latour-Martillac takes its name from the distinctive tower (“tour”) that stands in the vineyards, a remnant of a 12th-century fortification that once guarded the route to Bordeaux. Today, the estate is known for producing wines that combine the hallmark smoky-mineral character of Pessac-Léognan with polished structure and modern precision.

The 2020 vintage, from a warm and concentrated year, is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot and smaller proportions of Petit Verdot, delivering both depth and energy.

In the glass, it shows a deep ruby colour with violet reflections. The nose is expressive and layered, with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and dark cherry, complemented by notes of cedar, graphite, tobacco, and a subtle smoky nuance. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with finely textured tannins and fresh acidity; the fruit is ripe yet precise, leading to a long, structured finish with spice, mineral tension, and elegant persistence.
