Château de Fieuzal is one of the historic estates of Pessac-Léognan, set on deep gravel soils that give wines their signature smoky-mineral character. The 2005 vintage, one of Bordeaux’s greatest modern years, is now entering a beautiful phase of maturity, showing the estate’s capacity for both structure and graceful evolution, with a Cabernet Sauvignon-led blend supported by Merlot.

In the glass, it shows a deep garnet colour with clear signs of evolution. The nose is complex and developed, with aromas of blackcurrant, dried plum, and black cherry, layered with cedar, tobacco, leather, graphite, and subtle earthy and smoky notes. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with finely resolved tannins and fresh, integrated acidity; the fruit has evolved into savoury and tertiary complexity, leading to a long, elegant finish marked by spice, earth, and mineral depth.
