Château Citran je jedno od najstarijih imanja u Haut-Médocu, sa istorijom koja datira još iz 13. vijeka, a sam château više podsjeća na dvorac iz bajke nego na klasičnu vinariju. Poznato po pristupačnim i dobro izrađenim vinima, ovo imanje već dugo predstavlja referencu za odličan odnos kvaliteta i cijene u Médocu. Berba 2016 zasniva se pretežno na sorti Merlot, uz podršku Cabernet Sauvignon-a, što vinu daje nešto mekši i pristupačniji stil, uz očuvanu klasičnu strukturu.

U čaši se pokazuje duboka rubin crvena boja sa granatnim odsjajem. Na nosu je izražajno i klasično, sa aromama crne ribizle, kupine i šljive, uz note kedra, začina i blagih zemljanih tonova. Na nepcu je srednjeg tijela, sa glatkim, dobro integrisanim taninima i svježom kisjelinom; voće je uravnoteženo i otvoreno, a završnica meka i elegantna, sa nijansama kakaa, začina i suptilne mineralnosti.

Château Citran is one of the oldest estates in the Haut-Médoc, with origins dating back to the 13th century, and a château that resembles a fairytale manor more than a traditional winery. Known for its accessible, well-crafted wines, the estate has long been a benchmark for value in the Médoc. The 2016 is based predominantly on Merlot, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon, giving a style that leans slightly more toward suppleness while retaining classical structure.

In the glass, it shows a deep ruby colour with garnet reflections. The nose is expressive and classic, with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and plum, complemented by notes of cedar, spice, and a touch of earth. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with smooth, well-integrated tannins and fresh acidity; the fruit is balanced and open, leading to a soft, elegant finish with hints of cocoa, spice, and gentle minerality.
