Naziv Ca’Marcanda potiče iz dijalekta Pijemonta i može se prevesti kao „kuća beskrajnih pregovora“, što se odnosi na brojne sastanke između prethodnih vlasnika zemljišta i Angela Gaje – pregovori koji su se konačno završili 1996. godine kupovinom imanja. Ovo vino nosi ime imanja i predstavlja vrhunac proizvodnje porodice Gaja u Bolgheriju.

Napravljen je od isključivo najboljeg Cabernet Franca i Cabernet Sauvignona sa imanja. Berba iz 2021. godine mogla bi biti najbolja do sada. Na mirisu dominira voće, sa notama crne ribizle i borovnica. U drugom sloju otkrivaju se cvjetni elementi i slane nijanse, nakon čega slijede svježe note pinjola i grafita. Ulazak na nepce je sladak, sa nijansama slatke paprike i đurđevka. Drvo je izuzetno dobro integrisano i doprinosi diskretnim notama slatkog duvanskog lista.

The name Ca'Marcanda derives from a Piedmontese dialect expression which can be translated as the “house of endless negotiations” and refers to the several meetings between the previous landowners and Angelo Gaja, a very long negotiation finally concluded in 1996 with the land purchase. This is the wine that takes the name from the Estate, representing the pinnacle of the production for the Gaja family in Bolgheri.

A blend of only the very best Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon from the estate.  This 2021 vintage might be the best yet from this estate.  On the nose, fruits are dominant with notes of black currants and blueberries. At a second glance, floral elements and salty notes emerge, followed by fresh hints of pine nuts and graphite. The entrance on the palate is sweet, displaying notes of sweet bell pepper and lily of the valley. The wood is very well integrated and contributes light hints of sweet tobacco leaf.
