Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars osnovan je 1970. godine kupovinom vinograda S.L.V. Cask 23 je priča o dva legendarna vinograda – S.L.V. i Fay – koji se spajaju u kompleksnu, a opet harmoničnu kupažu. S.L.V., prvi vinograd vinarije, zadivio je svijet vina kada je pobijedio na čuvenom “Judgment of Paris” takmičenju 1976. godine. Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars was established in 1970 with the purchase of the S.L.V. vineyard. Only six years later, the 1973 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded the highest honour at the Judgment of Paris blind tasting, besting First Growth Bordeaux Châteaux. This achievement solidified Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars and the Napa Valley as places that crafted world-class wines. Today, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars is a quality benchmark for California Cabernet Sauvignon.
Cask 23 is a tale of two legendary vineyards – S.L.V. and Fay – that come together in a complex, yet harmonious blend. S.L.V., the winery’s first vineyard, stunned the wine world when it won the “Judgment of Paris” in 1976. And Fay is the site where Cabernet Sauvignon was first planted in the Stags Leap District in 1961.
This wine therefore combines the signature perfume notes of Fay vineyard with the structure and dark fruit of S.L.V. Inviting aromas of dark currents, blueberry compote, black cherry, tobacco, and spices lead to a flavourful and dense mid-palate with rich and refined tannins and a persistent finish with flavours of dark chocolate, anise, and black fruits.
