Pieve Santa Restituta je imanje porodice Gaja u Montalčinu, kupljeno 1994. godine. To je bila prva ekspanzija porodice van Pijemonta još od osnivanja vinarije u Barbaresku 1859. godine. Rennina je vinograd južnozapadne orijentacije, sa zemljištem koje potiče iz eocenske epohe, sastavljenim uglavnom od pijeska, tufa i gline. Kao i sva vina Brunello, sastoji se isključivo od sorte Sangiovese.

Ovo vino se proizvodi u malim količinama i to samo u boljim berbama. Rennina 2020 je tamno i moćno u čaši, polako se otvara uz note zdrovljenog kamena, kedra, nane i blagi nagovještaj kumina, dok se tamnocrveno voće postepeno razvija s vremenom u čaši. Na nepcu dominiraju višnje i kupine sa blagom kisjelošću, uz svilenkastu teksturu i uravnoteženu strukturu zaokruženih tanina i živahne svježine, praćene notama sladića i slatkog bilja. Završetak je srednje dug i uravnotežen, sa finim, zrnastim taninima ispod sloja uglađenih crvenih i crnih plodova, uz blagi nagovještaj lavande pri kraju.

Pieve Santa Restituta is Gaja’s estate in Montalcino, purchased in 1994. It is the family’s first expansion outside Piedmont since the winery's establishment in Barbaresco in 1859.    Rennina is a single south-west facing vineyard with soil that dates back to the Eocene age and mainly consists of sand, tuff and clay.  As with all Brunello wines, it is comprised of 100% Sangiovese.  

Not many bottles of this are produced, and only in the better vintages.  Rennina 2020 is dark and powerful in the glass, opening slowly with notes of crushed stone, cedar, mint and a hint of cumin as its dark red fruits begin to unfold with time in the glass.  On the palate, tart cherry and blackberry fruit is accompanied by a silky texture and balanced by a core of rounded tannins and stimulating acidity, with notes of liquorice and sweet herbs behind. The finish is medium-long and balanced, with fine-grained tannins under a sheen of polished red and black fruits and a hint of lavender on the finish.
