Proizvedeno s istom strašću i pažnjom prema detaljima kao i Ornellaia, Le Serre Nuove predstavlja istinski “drugi vin” ove prestižne vinarije. Vegetacijska sezona 2022. godine bila je prilično topla i rezultirala je nešto manjim prinosima od uobičajenog, ali izvanrednim kvalitetom grožđa. Grožđe je ručno brano u korpama od 15 kg. Grozdovi su birani ručno na dvostrukoj traci za selekciju, i prije i nakon odstranjivanja peteljki, a zatim nježno presovani. Pored ručnog branja, imanje je uvelo i optičku mašinu za selekciju, kako bi dodatno povećali preciznost izbora bobica. Svaka sorta i svaki vinograd vinifikovani su odvojeno.

Nakon fermentacije, vino je pretočeno u barike (25% novih i 75% korišćenih jednom). U baricima, u podrumima vinarije Ornellaia, vino je sazrijevalo oko 15 mjeseci. Nakon prvih 12 mjeseci vina su kupažirana, pa vraćena u burad na dodatna tri mjeseca sazrijevanja. Potom je vino provelo još šest mjeseci u boci prije puštanja u prodaju.

Konačna kupaža berbe 2022. godine sastoji se od 65% Merlota, 25% Cabernet Sauvignona i 10% Cabernet Franca. Vino pokazuje prepoznatljivu eleganciju i svježinu, uprkos sunčanom karakteru berbe. Intenzivna crveno-ljubičasta boja, zrele arome crnog voća, začina i blago tostiranog drveta dominiraju čulima. Velikodušan i sočan uvod vodi ka bogatim i čvrstim taninima, dok je završetak aromatičan, svilen i dugotrajan. Vino već sada pruža izuzetno prijatno iskustvo, a savršenu zrelost dostići će u narednih deset godina.

Made with the same passion and attention to detail as Ornellaia, Le Serre Nuove is a true “second vin.”  The 2022 growing season was quite warm and resulted in slightly lower yields than usual, but excellent quality.  The grapes were handpicked into 15 kg baskets. The bunches were selected by hand on a double sorting table before and after de-stemming, then finally soft-pressed. In addition to handpicking, the estate has introduced an optical selection machine in order to further increase the quality of berry selection.  Each variety and each parcel of land was vinified separately.  Following fermentation,  the wines were racked into barriques (25% new and 75% used once). The wine remained in barriques in Ornellaia’s cellars for about 15 months. After the first 12 months the wine was blended and then returned to the barriques for an additional three months of ageing. The wine then remained in the bottle for another six months prior to release.

 The final blend for the 2022 vintage is 65% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc.  The wine displays signature elegance and freshness, despite the vintage’s solar character.  A deep red-purple hue and ripe black fruit, spices and lightly toasted wood aromas shine through in the wine. A generous and juicy prologue is ensued by rich, firm tannins, while the finish is aromatic, plush and persistent.  The wine already offers a delightful drinking experience and will reach perfect maturity within ten years.
