Les Clans je rosé napravljen sa ambicijom i tehnikama velikog bijelog vina – po svojoj filozofiji mnogo bliži vrhunskom bijelom Burgundcu nego klasičnom roséu iz Provanse. Proizvodi se prvenstveno od Grenachea i Rollea (Vermentino), a fermentiše i sazrijeva u velikim bačvama od francuskog hrasta, uz redovan bâtonnage na talogu, čime dobija izuzetnu teksturu, koncentraciju i kompleksnost, zadržavajući pritom svježinu karakterističnu za Provansu.

Sa četiri godine starosti, berba 2022 ulazi u posebno zanimljivu fazu razvoja. Arome zrelog crvenog bobičastog voća, breskve i citrusa počinju da se razvijaju prema kompleksnijim notama suvog voća, ananasa, đumbira, lješnika, tosta i nježnih začina. Na nepcu je širok i kremast, ali istovremeno izuzetno svjež i strukturiran, sa sve bolje integrisanim hrastom i dugim, slanim završetkom. Za razliku od većine rosé vina, Les Clans je napravljen da se razvija u boci: daljim sazrijevanjem mladalačka voćnost postaće suptilnija, dok će se postepeno pojavljivati note suve kajsije, kore citrusa, meda, prepečenih orašastih plodova, začina i mediteranskog bilja, a tekstura će postajati sve skladnija. Odličan je već sada, ali pred njim je još mnogo razvoja – ovo je rosé kojem treba pristupiti kao vrhunskom bijelom Burgundcu i odličan dokaz da ozbiljan rosé ne mora nužno da se pije mlad.

Les Clans is a rosé made with the ambition and techniques of a great white wine – closer in philosophy to a fine white Burgundy than to a conventional Provence rosé. Produced principally from Grenache and Rolle (Vermentino), the wine is fermented and aged in large French oak barrels with regular bâtonnage of the lees, building remarkable texture, concentration and complexity while retaining the freshness that defines Provence.

At four years of age, the 2022 is entering a fascinating stage of its development. Ripe red berries, peach and citrus are beginning to evolve towards more complex notes of dried fruit, pineapple, ginger, hazelnut, toast and gentle spice. The palate is broad and creamy, yet beautifully fresh and structured, with increasingly integrated oak and a long, savoury finish. Unlike most rosé, Les Clans is made to evolve in bottle: with further ageing, expect the youthful fruit to become more restrained while notes of dried apricot, citrus peel, honey, toasted nuts, spice and savoury herbs gradually emerge, and the texture becomes increasingly seamless. Delicious now, but with plenty of development still ahead, this is a rosé to approach much as you would a fine white Burgundy – and proof that serious rosé does not necessarily need to be drunk young.
