Solaia, zajedno sa Tignanellom, smatra se jednim od dva najuticajnija italijanska vina u posljednjih 50 godina, a ujedno su i svojevrsne ogledalske slike jedno drugog: Tignanello je uglavnom Sangiovese sa malo Cabernet-a, dok je Solaia uglavnom Cabernet sa daškom Sangiovese-a.

Solaia 2020 nudi izuzetnu aromatsku intenzivnost i kompleksnost na nosu: note šumskog voća, posebno borovnica, malina i ribizli, koje se prepliću sa slatkastim tonovima šljiva, crnih trešanja i svježim utiscima mente, mirte, sladića i cvjetnih nijansi lavande. Bogati buket upotpunjuju slatke, dobro integrisane note kakao praha i sušenog voća, koje se nastavljaju u začinske nijanse karanfilića i prijatne note roze bibera.

Na nepcu ulazi bogato i puno, a zatim se elegantno zaokružuje, uz baršunaste tanine koji podržavaju dug i postojan završetak. Aftertaste odražava arome mente, sladića i čokolade prisutne na nosu.  Ovo je spektakularno vino koje bi trebalo da se arhivira ili dekantira prije posluživanja.

The sunniest part of the Tignanello estate is home to the Solaia vineyard. In other words, the very best grapes from the very best vineyard.  All the rest is passion, the utmost care and research by the talented team at Antinori.  

Solaia, together with Tignanello, are considered the two most influential Italian wines of the last 50 years, and the two are in a way mirror images of one another:  Tignanello is mostly Sangiovese with a little Cabernet, while Solaia is mostly Cabernet with a touch of Sangiovese.

Solaia 2020 offers an exceptional intensity and complexity on the nose: notes of wild berries, especially blueberries, raspberries and currants that intermingle with sweet hints of plums, black cherries and fresh impressions of mint, myrtle, licorice, and floral nuances of lavender. The rich bouquet is completed by sweet well-integrated notes of cocoa powder and dried fruit that follow over to spicy hints of cloves and pleasant impressions of pink pepper. Entry on the palate is rich and mouth filling then elegantly softens, with velvety tannins that sustain a long persistent finish. The aftertaste echoes the notes of mint, licorice and chocolate perceived on the nose.  This is a spectacular wine that should be cellared or decanted.
