Premier Grand Cru Classé iz St. Émiliona, Cheval Blanc se smatra pravom vinskom ikonom. Ovaj jedinstveni i prepoznatljivi dragulj, koji obožavaju ljubitelji vina širom svijeta, teško je nabaviti. Poznat je i po tome što ima jedan od najviših udjela Cabernet Franca u kupaži – željezom bogata šljunkovita i pjeskovita tla na glini omogućavaju ovoj sorti zrelost kakva se ne postiže nigdje drugdje u Bordeauxu.

Cheval Blanc 2006 – kupaža od 55% Merlota i 45% Cabernet Franca – nastavio je da se usavršava tokom gotovo 20 godina od flaširanja.  Otvaranjem boce sada otkriva eksploziju zgnječenih ljubičica i potpourrija, uz suptilne nagovještaje kože i kutije za cigare. Na nepcu je srednjeg tijela, s finim taninima, a cijelo vino odiše izvanrednom strukturom i elegancijom. Završetak je dug, bogat mineralima i impresivno postojan.

A Premier Grand Cru Classé of St. Émilion, Cheval Blanc is considered an icon. A unique, unmistakable wine that is coveted by wine lovers all over the world and is therefore hard to come by, it is also known to have one of the highest proportions of Cabernet Franc in its blend:  the iron-rich gravel and sandy soil on clay give this variety a ripeness like nowhere else in Bordeaux.

The 2006 Cheval Blanc - a blend of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Franc - has continued to improve over the (almost) 20 years since it was bottled.  Opening one now reveals an explosion of crushed violets and potpourri, hints of leather and cigar box.  The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, and the whole wine feels wonderfully structured, with a long-lasting, mineral-rich finish.
