This lovely wine from Albania is made from a rare, indigenous grape that is not grown anywhere else on the planet. On the nose, it combines a lemon, apple tang with an aromatic Muscat-like note and an enjoyable bitter hint of herbs. The palate is a bit more concentrated than the nose, with lemon zest and grapefruit flavours. The grape is so rare, even in its home country, that it is rarely exported. Lucky us. Approachable and food-friendly, you can enjoy Cëruja with Adriatic fish accompanied by potatoes and Swiss chard.
