Solaia, zajedno sa Tignanellom, smatra se jednim od dva najuticajnija italijanska vina u posljednjih 50 godina, a ujedno su i svojevrsne ogledalske slike jedno drugog: Tignanello je uglavnom Sangiovese sa malo Cabernet-a, dok je Solaia uglavnom Cabernet sa daškom Sangiovese-a.

Nos vina Solaia 2021 je izuzetno složen: intenzivne note sitnog tamnog zrelog voća, posebno crne ribizle, kupine i ljubičaste šljive, koje se nastavljaju u svježe tonove mente, mirte i začinske nijanse bijelog bibera. Slatke arome prah šećera, kakao praha i sladića savršeno su integrisane.

Ulazak na nepce je bogat, zavodljiv i živahan, sa izvanrednom i dobro uravnoteženom strukturom. Svilenkasti tanini prate dug završetak, koji ostavlja postojan aftertaste sa notama tamne čokolade.  Ovo je spektakularno vino koje bi trebalo da se arhivira ili dekantira prije posluživanja.

The sunniest part of the Tignanello estate is home to the Solaia vineyard. In other words, the very best grapes from the very best vineyard.  All the rest is passion, the utmost care and research by the talented team at Antinori.  

Solaia, together with Tignanello, are considered the two most influential Italian wines of the last 50 years, and the two are in a way mirror images of one another:  Tignanello is mostly Sangiovese with a little Cabernet, while Solaia is mostly Cabernet with a touch of Sangiovese.

Solaia 2021’s nose is remarkably complex: intense notes of small dark ripe fruit especially black currants, blackberries and purple plums that follow through to fresh hints of mint, myrtle and spicy notes of white pepper. Sweet aromas of powdered sugar, cocoa powder and licorice are seamlessly integrated. Entry on the palate is rich, enticing, vibrant with an excellent and well-balanced structure. Silky tannins accompany a lengthy finish defined by a persistent aftertaste with hints of dark chocolate.  This is a spectacular wine that should be cellared or decanted.
