Smješteni u najprestižnijem vinskom regionu Austrije – Wachau – F.X. Pichler su jedan od najuglednijih svjetskih proizvođača Rieslinga i Grüner Veltlinera. Njihova vina su zaista monumentalna suva bijela vina. Franz Xaver (čuveni F.X.) naslijedio je imanje 1971. godine i imao je ključnu ulogu u usponu kako porodične vinarije, tako i čitavog regiona Wachau. Danas vino proizvodi njegov sin Lukas, predstavnik pete generacije, dok je F.X. i dalje aktivno prisutan u vinogradima.

Vinograd Steinertal nalazi se na istočnom kraju regije Wachau, i sastoji se od terasa smještenih na dubokim naslagama gnajsa, s pogledom na rijeku Dunav. Vina sa ovog lokaliteta karakteriše spoj intenziteta i izuzetne preciznosti, gotovo hirurški čiste izražajnosti.

Ovaj Grüner Veltliner odležava u velikim starim hrastovim bačvama prije puštanja u prodaju, što vinu dodaje dodatnu dubinu i složenost, bez narušavanja kristalnog voćnog karaktera.

Riječ je o vinu izuzetne jasnoće, mineralnosti i elegancije – bogato i hrabro, sa živahnom kisjelinom koja unosi energiju i svježinu. Aromatski profil donosi osvježavajuće note bijelog bibera i ličija, čineći ga idealnim primjerom Grüner Veltlinera sa velikim karakterom i rafiniranim stilom.

Based in Austria’s most prestigious region, the Wachau, F.X. Pichler are one of the world’s foremost producers of Riesling and Grüner Veltliner. They are truly monumental dry white wines. Franz Xaver (the eponymous F.X.) inherited the estate in 1971, and was instrumental in the rise to prominence of both his family’s winery and the Wachau. His son Lucas (the fifth generation) now makes the wine, but F.X. is still an active presence in the vineyards.

The Steinertal vineyard is located at the eastern end of the Wachau, and consists of terraces on deep gneiss deposits overlooking the Danube river. The wines from here combine intensity with laser-like precision. This Grüner Veltliner is aged in large old oak before release which adds further depth to the crystalline fruit.  It is a wine of exceptional clarity, minerality and elegance; rich and bold with vibrant acidity, and with refreshing aromas of white pepper spice and lychee.
