Srednjeg do punog tijela na nepcu, ovaj grand cru classé sastoji se od 82% Cabernet Sauvignona, 16% Merlota i 2% Petit Verdota, a odležavao je 20 mjeseci u 100% novim francuskim hrastovim bačvama. Medium- to full-bodied on the palate, this grand cru classé is composed of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot, and was aged in 100% new French oak barrels for 20 months.  Its lovely bouquet is full of finesse and power, with gorgeous aromas of blackberries, currants, cedar and tobacco... with just a touch of roses and dark chocolate.   This will age beautifully but, if you drink it now, pair it with venison, game (including poultry) or a range of classic red meat dishes.  

Chateau Calon-Segur, the most northerly of all the Médoc Grand-Crus Classés, is the château with a heart on its label. That is because the former owner, Marquis de Ségur, though he owned such Estates as Lafite and Latour, he declared "My heart belongs to Calon".
