Heredad X, Carlos Valero 2018
This is a pure Garnacha from vines at 650 meters altitude in the Campo de Borja DO in Aragon, Spain. Quite ripe, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel and then matured in a combination of French and American oak barrels. It’s juicy and chewy, with good concentration, but with balance too. It’s quite balsamic and spicy, and quite tasty. Only 6,000 bottles made, only 60 bottles imported.
