Gevrey Chambertin "Vieille Vignes" Faiveley 2018

Veoma lijep primjer snage i obima ove sjajne berbe iz 2018. u Gevrey Chambertinu. Faivelijeva "Vieille Vignes" (Stare Loze) boca je živahna i puna, bez gubitka ravnoteže i strukture. Puno aroma tamne trešnje i šljive, naglašeno začinima za pečenje, ovo vino je srednjeg tijela sa mekim taninima i zaokruženo plodovima crvenog bobičastog voća. Završnica pokazuje malo hrasta, ali ne previše. Štaviše, meke note moke i vanile nadopunjuju i ističu prekrasne elemente voća i začina. Ovo je vino stvoreno za starenje i sa svojih pet godina, već počinje da se prelijepo pije.

A beautiful example of the power and scope of this great 2018 vintage in Gevrey Chambertin.  Faiveley’s Vieille Vignes (Old Vine) bottling is vibrant and full, without losing its poise and structure. Full of dark cherry and plum aromas, accented with baking spice, the wine is medium bodied with soft tannin and round red berry fruits. The finish shows some oak, but not in excess. Rather, the soft notes of mocha and vanilla complement and highlight the beautiful fruit and spice elements. This is a wine built to age but, at five years old, it is now starting to drink beautifully.
