Ranked as a Cru Bourgeois and a winner of the Medaille d’Or (gold medal) in Paris, this red is a deep garnet in colour and offers a rich nose with aromas of fruits, wood and vanilla. Smooth in the mouth with ripe and spiced tannins, it also has a powerful and persistent finish.  A blend of 60% Merlot with 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, it is a good match for stews, grilled meats and fish, and hard cheese.

Château Begadan is located in the famous Médoc region of Bordeaux, where wine has been cultivated for many centuries.  On the one hand, Médoc is the name for the whole peninsula north of the town of Bordeaux… on the other hand, Médoc is also the name of the appellation. The region's poor gravel soils were formed from Pyrenean glaciers during the Ice Age, and yet are perfect for the production of quality wines and Cabernet Sauvignon especially.
